The Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Muneer ul-Islam today held an interactive meeting with media fraternity of Pulwama district at mini Secretariat.Prominent media persons from both print and electronic houses were attended the meeting.While praising the role of media persons, the Deputy Commissioner enjoined upon them to work in professional synergy and unison so that public grievances and developmental works are highlighted before the administration. He also assured of providing all possible support for the media fraternity and called for cooperation from the media persons for the holistic development of the district and making it a model to replicate in the state. During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on the issues confronting the media persons in the district. The media persons also demanded for setting up of Press Club in the district.The District Information officer, Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo also spoke on the occasion and hailed the role of media in the democratic setup. He also enjoined upon the media persons to imbibe professional values and be committed to welfare of public cause. He further added that media has a prominent role in transforming our society into an informed society.
