In order to provide better road connectivity to the people living in rural areas, Minister for Forest, Ecology & Environment Choudhary Lal Singh today inaugurated several road projects, connecting Basohli with other parts of the State.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the government is committed to provide better road connectivity to the people of rural areas and especially those residing in far off places. He stated that after blacktopping of the various roads, connectivity to all such villages including Mahanpur, Plassi, Kanow, Pretha, Thana, Dakota, Dhanore, Plail, Banohre will get a flip and improve the economic condition of the villagers. The minister later inaugurated road projects at Bailu to Sohra, Doma and also Rehalta to Trimbli and Mahanpur.He further said the Government has focused its attention on developing locations having tourist potential to increase tourist footfall which can generate employment and further enhance the socio-economic condition of the locals. Development works amounting Rs 250 crore have been undertaken in Basholi constituency to make it a model constituency, the minister said.The villagers apprised the minister of various demands which include renovation and construction of ponds, repair of Basholi-Mahanpur road, repair of hand pumps, taking up new water supply scheme for the areas having no PHE connections and black topping in few more areas to strengthen the road network.

The Minister listened to the grievances of the people patiently and issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned officers for early redressal of the same.  The Minister listened to the people's demands at different places after holding 'Charcha Mandals'.Lal Singh said it is the endeavor of the Government to provide all basic facilities to the people on priority basis, adding that a well-conceived programme has been devised to address all issues in a phased manner. He said provision for better healthcare, education, PHE and road connectivity are the priority sectors of the Government, adding that Government is paying focused attention to upgrade the same. He sought people's cooperation in implementing all Government schemes so that benefits of such schemes reach to the needy. He asked them to maintain close liaison with the administration and project their demands in most legitimate way. He directed the officers to speed up the pace of ongoing development work and complete projects within the stipulated time frame. He also emphasized the need for making judicious use of funds.The Minister was accompanied by all the senior officials of Forest and its allied departments and other district and Block level officers.  Chairman Pollution Control Board, Ravi Kaiser, Chief Wildlife Warden, Suresh Chugg, Chief Conservator Forests, Jammu, Roshan Jaggi, CCFs, Director Soil and Water Conservation, Javid Iqbal, Director Social Forestry, AK Gupta, MD, SFC, Suresh Gupta among others were present during minister's tour to his constituency.
