Taking the Badals head-on in their stronghold of Lambi, Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday vowed to throw into jails several of the OSDs and aides of deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal within 24 hours of forming the government in Punjab, and declared that the entire Badal clan, along with Bikram Singh Majithia, would also find themselves behind bars  if found guilty of sacrilege and drugs trade.“The day we come to power, within 24 hours, I’ll have Sukhbir’s OSDs Dyal Singh Kolianwal (also SGPC member) and Satinderjeet Singh Mantta as well as the Badals’ close aide Tejinder Singh Middhukhera behind bars for the atrocities to which they have subjected the people at the instigation of their political bosses,” declared Captain Amarinder amid loud cheers at a packed stadium near Gudha in his first public rally in Lambi, from where he is contesting to eliminate the Badal menace from the state.Pointing out that he had decided to contest from Lambi only to teach the Badals a lesson, Captain Amarinder said the day he wins the seat Parkash Singh Badal will run away and never show his face again. Captain Amarinder’s rally followed his filing of nomination papers from Lambi, after which he drove in a procession from Malaut to Lambi.

Charging Badal with ruining the state, and accusing the entire Badal clan along with Bikram Singh Majithia of destroying Punjab’s youth with chitta, Captain Amarinder said he would not spare any of them. The PPCC chief, who earlier visited the family of a youth who had died due to Chitta, expressed serious concern over the problem of drugs in the state and vowed to rid the people of the menace.Lambasting Badal for trying to polarize the state on communal lines through incidents of sacrilege, Captain Amarinder said he would get all such instances thoroughly probed and punish those found guilty, including the Akali leaders. It was only due to the powerful media and social media that the Badals failed to succeed in whipping communal passions in the state despite the deaths in police firing in Bargari following the desecration of the Guru Granth Sahib, he said.“I believe in Wahe Guru and Badal will have to pay for his sins against religion,” said Captain Amarinder.Captain Amarinder charged the Badals with building hotels and taking over all the key businesses in Punjab to promote their family interests while the youth were suffering due to unemployment and farmers were committing suicide. Pointing out that this was his last election, the PPCC president urged the youth to come forward to save the state from the clutches of such people who were out to loot and ruin them.

He noted that many people he had met in Lambi had complained of fake cases and harassment at the hands of the Badal dispensation and asserted that his government will ensure that all these cases are reopened and reinvestigated so that the innocent do not suffer.Captain Amarinder also came down heavily on the AAP candidate Jarnail Singh, dubbing him an outsider and chosen to help Badal win from Lambi. Arvind Kejriwal and his party had ruined Delhi, with no development or governance worth mentioning, and 19 of his MLAs were facing cases of rape, corruption etc, said Captain Amarinder, adding that they now wanted to similarly ruin Punjab, where they were bringing in thousands of outsiders to wreak havoc. This showed that AAP had absolutely no place for Punjabis, whom they do not trust, said the PPCC chief, adding that this is a land of Punjabis and they will not tolerate such an assault on their psyche.
