DC Srinagar reviews snow clearance, dewatering arrangements

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, today convened a meeting to review snow clearance and dewatering arrangements in view of snowfall and rains in the district. Officers of PHE, PDD, Health, SMC, Traffic, MED, UEED, FCS&CA, Fire & Emergency Services attended the meeting.The meeting was informed that all the concerned Departments are ready to meet any eventuality, besides adequate men and machinery have been kept on standby for snow clearance operations.It was said that all the Departments have established control rooms for the convenience of the general public.The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to ensure timely clearance of snow from main roads, lanes and by lanes in the district, especially on roads leading to important installations.Officers of PDD and PHE Departments were asked to ensure uninterrupted electric power and water supply so that people may not suffer in harsh climatic conditions. The meeting decided that ADC Srinagar (9419055573), Assistant Commissioner (Rev) (9419407045), Sub Divisional Magistrate East (9419009472) and Sub Divisional Magistrate West (9419004372) will function as Nodal Officers to monitor the situation within their areas of jurisdiction.
