To mark the 155th  birth anniversary of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, a programme was organized by Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Trust in collaboration with 166 Bt CRPF here today at Kala Kendra.Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga was the chief guest while Minister of State for Transport (Independent charge), Revenue, Public Works (Roads & Buildings), Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Sunil Sharma was the guest of honor.Deputy Commandant CRPF, Kumar Saurav besides artists, students, prominent citizens and a large number of art lovers were present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, Ganga said that Pt Madan Mohan Malaviyaji, founder of Banaras Hindu University, was one of the greatest leaders of the freedom struggle who shaped the values and ideals of modern India. He said that his intelligence as an educationist, a social reformer, a writer and as a legislator has left a deep imprint on our society.

Recalling the contribution of Malaviyaji, the Minister said he believed in the power of education and morality in arousing the national consciousness and wanted the youth of India to benefit from an integrated education that incorporated modern scientific knowledge, practical training, ethical standard and the study of the arts.The Minister also went around the exhibition and showed keen interest in the paintings of Master Sansar Chand Baru, local and outside artists. He expressed hope that artists will continue to quench the aesthetic and spiritual thirst of people by expressing realistic depiction of nature through their paintings.Ganga said that the budding artists will take inspiration from the talented and versatile artists and convey their feelings through brush and the canvass.Various cultural events were also performed by the artists which were highly applauded by the audience.
