Minister for Social Welfare, ARI & Trainings and Science & Technology, Sajad Gani Lone, took a detailed review of various developmental activities being undertaken in Kupwara district in a meeting held here today.MLA Kupwara Bashir Ahmad Dar, all district and sectoral officers were present in a meeting.

The Minister directed the officers to gear up the pace of work for implementation of various developmental activities being undertaken in the district. He further directed the concerned departments to ensure uninterrupted power supply and regular snow clearance from roads during winter months, to avoid inconvenience to the people.The Minister further informed that Bangus road and Biotechnology Park are being planned for the district, works for which will soon be underway.Detailing the progress of the development works being undertaken in the district, the Chief Planning Officer stated that during 2016-17,  work on important bridges including Shartigam,  Batnar and Braripora have been completed. He said 5014 MGNREGA works have been completed besides macadamization of 17 kilometer stretch of road which includes macadamization of bus stand at Kupwara, Kupwara-Sangli bypass road among others.It was further informed that total 93 schemes out of 105 schemes of PMGSY have also been completed till date. A progress of 80- 95% has also been realized in the PHE sector.
