On the second consecutive relaxation day, the Valley markets witnessed a huge rush of people who were seen thronging the markets and buying essential commodities throughout the day.Various places including commercial Hub Lal Chowk, the weekly flea market popularly known as Sunday market, city areas, Jamia Masjid market witnessed a huge rush of shoppers.Witnesses said that the huge rush of shoppers in these markets also led to the traffic jams thereby left commuters to face hardships.Notably, it is the forth full day relaxation since July 9 of this year. The Valley is witnessing uprising since July 9 of this year that started following the killing of Hizb commander Burhan Wani in a gunfight at Bumdoora village of Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.Meanwhile, a large number of shoppers from different areas were seen visiting the commercial hub and other adjacent markets and buying the essential commodities especially winter collections.

Besides, the street vendors had also installed their stock on the roadside here who were seen selling clothes, shoes, blankets, utensils and other essential commodities.Ishfaq Ahmad, one of the street vendors who had installed his stock at Amira Kadal told KNS that on Saturday and Sunday, he managed to sell all the stock. “After long time, I managed to sell all my stock and hopefully the other vendors might have also managed to sell their stocks,” he said.“The rush in the market today gives semblance of Arfa today,” he said.Meanwhile, the weekly flea market, popularly known as Sunday market here witnessed a huge rush of shoppers today as well.Hundreds of street vendors had come in the wee hours of this morning and had installed their stock in the market.The huge rush of shoppers in the market shoppers forced the commuters to take alternate routes.Similarly, a huge rush of shoppers was also witnessed in South and north Kashmir districts today.
