The Committee on Government Assurances of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today directed the PWD (R&B) Department to fulfill all their commitments regarding the Government assurances given by the department on the floor of the House from time to time.The Committee, which met here under the Chairmanship of MLA, Vikar Rasool Wani today discussed the Action Taken Report on previous Government Assurances related to the R&B Department.Legislators, Javaid Hassan Baig, Dina Nath Bhagat, Devinder Kumar Manyal, Deldan Namgail and Dr Gagan Bhagat attended the meeting and gave their suggestions to make the Committee more vibrant and result oriented.

The members also raised different issues regarding development of the State as well as their constituencies including construction and upgradation of roads, bridges, buildings and stressed for clear all bottlenecks.The Committee directed the concerned agencies to give employment to local youth on priority basis on the construction of all National Highway Projects.The Committee directed the concerned authority about the Action Taken Report of the directions given by the Committee from time to time for scrutiny of the Committee.Commissioner Secretary, R&B, Rohit Kansal and Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pawan Kotwal briefed the Committee about the functioning and steps taken by the department regarding the pending assurances.Among others, senior officers of R&B department and Assembly Secretariat were present on the occasion.
