Usha Vohra, First Lady of the State, participated in the Children’s Day and Guru Nanak Jayanti celebration programme organized by the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Welfare Society (VKWS), here today.Students of the schools which are being run by the VKWS presented a very impressive cultural programme which included skits, songs and dance items. Vohra highly appreciated the cultural presentations by the students and complimented the VKWS for providing quality education to the children belonging to the disadvantaged sections of the society. She lauded the efforts of VKWS and the teachers of the Society in moulding the young children and promoting their development to become capable of standing on their own feet and discharging their obligations to the society. She expressed  appreciation of the working of the Society for doing better and better every year.Mrs. Vohra exhorted the teachers to imbue their students with high moral values, developing in them the capability to always take high moral grounds and advised the children to speak truth even in the face of adversity.Mrs. Vohra released “Surging Steps”, brochure of VKWS, and presented scholarships to the meritorious rural girl students who have been adopted by the VKWS.Mrs. Ved Kumari Ghai, President of the VKWS, presented the Welcome Address, while Mrs. Ruby Sharma, Working President, VKSW, presented a formal Vote of Thanks.
