Clashes broke out in Noorbagh area of Srinagar city when the youth who was mowed down by a security vehicle two weeks back succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS hospital on Monday morning.Rizwan Ahmed Mir son of Ghulam Hasan a resident of Bhagwanpora Noorbagh was  critically injured on 2 November this month when a security vehicle belonging to Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) coming from wrong side hit him at Umarabad HMT road. “He was repairing the bike of a local when an SSB vehicle coming from the wrong direction hit him. He had been in coma at SKIMS and on Monday morning he breathed his last,” Ghulam Hasan, the father of the slain youth told news agency CNS.Reports and eyewitnesses said that as the word about the death of Rizwan spread in the area, scores of youth hit to roads and clashed with government forces. The protesters caused damaged to several CRPF vehicles. Police according to locals used tear-smoke shells to disperse the mourners taking body to martyrs grave yard Eidgah. “Police targeted funeral procession that left many people injured. Amid pro-freedom slogans the slain youth was laid to rest,” the locals said adding that clashes between government forces and protesters continued for hours. They alleged that Government Forces ransacked the houses and caused damage to vehicles. “Police caused damaged to my motorcycle when I was performing my professional duty,” said Waheed Ahmed Sofi.Station House Officer Parimpora police station said that shortly after the accident they arrested the ‘erring’ driver and seized the vehicle. “A case vide FIR number 240/2016 under section 304A stands registered in the police station and investigating officer has been investigating the case,” he said.
