Samoon reviews functioning of higher education institutes in Srinagar, Kupwara

Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, visited different higher educational institutes in Srinagar city and reviewed their functioning.During his visit to Kashmir University Hazratbal, The Commissioner reviewed ongoing works under RUSA scheme. He also visited Women’s College Srinagar and inspected its functioning. He said nursing courses will be started soon in the six Women’s colleges including Women’s College Srinagar, Nawakadal, Anantnag, Pulwama, Sopore, and Baramulla after approval of Nursing Council of India. Later, the Secretary visited Amar Singh College and inspected ongoing developmental works there. Dr Samoon also visited Kupwara and chaired a meeting there to review the functioning of Higher Education Institutes in the border district.The meeting was attended by DDC Kupwara, all college principals of the district, and officers of the district administration.The Commissioner Secretary directed the concerned to ensure better educational facilities to the students of the district, besides stressed on timely completion of all ongoing-developmental projects under the Higher Education sector.Later, Dr Samoon along with the concerned visited Degree College Kupwara and inspected various ongoing works there.
