AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed has criticized Govt. for ignoring the sufferings of Karen and other adjoining areas who have been trapped in cross LOC shelling since last many days.In a statement issued to KNS, Er. Rashid said “despite knowing that situation at borders was tense since last few months, state Govt. and administration did nothing to ease out the sufferings of people of Keran and adjoining areas. Govt. Watched like a mute spectator as if it was only waiting to happen the untoward at LOC. Thousands in Karen and adjoining areas have been forced to leave their houses and are wandering to find shelters at safer places. The least Govt. could have done would have been to provide them concrete bunkers and also shifted many families well in time. However it preferred not to care unless the situation reached the worst and people have been left at the mercy of shells and bullets at the LOC. It seems Govt. wanted people to lose their lives so that it could get political mileage at national and international fronts out of the issue.Er. Rasheed appealed Govt. to provide immediate accommodations and other basic immunities to Karen migrants without any further delay so that they don’t face further hardships in coming tough winters.
