Expressing shock over the killing of teenager Qaisar Sofi of Shalimar and using teargas and pellets on the mourners, senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman, Nayeem Khan Sunday said that it is sheer cruelty not to allow people to perform last rites of their dead.He said that using force on mourners can simply be termed as the worst kind of cruelty and unkindness of those who resort to moral sermons every now and then,” Nayeem Ahmad Khan said in a statement issued to KNS.He denounced the so called government for killing 16-year-old student, Qaiser Sofi after torturing him in custody and forcing him to consume a poisonous substance. Expressing solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family especially the parents of Qaisar Sofi, Khan said that their wound is so deep to heal. Khan said, “Killing a teenager in such a cruel manner shows the level of hatred government has for the people for demanding their right to self determination.

”He said that ruthless force unleashed on the mourners of the youth resulted in injuries to dozens of them as if the killing of innocent Qaisar Sofi was not enough.JKNF chairman stressed upon the immediate release of all political prisoners and halt on arrests so that those youth who are out of their homes to save themselves from wrath of police may return and end the worries of their parents. He also called for an end to “operation ransacking” started by the men in uniform in nook and corner of the valley.Khan said that unaccountability has already encouraged police and other forces personnel to damage private properties worth crores of rupees.Such kind of cruel operations have been used in future as well to crush and kill the freedom sentiment of the people of Kashmir but they failed Khan said adding “so it is better for the collaborators of oppression not to destroy their energy anymore.” (KNS)
