Ahead of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections scheduled early next year, a city based youth empowerment group in collaboration with District Administration launched a massive voter awareness campaign named "I Vote I Lead". This campaign would be led by Mr Gauravdeep Singh, a Ludhiana-based youth empowerment activist along with his team of 35 young leaders. The core team members of the project are: Khushi Arora, Reet Singh, Harshleen Kaur, Arshpreet Kaur, Gauravdeep Singh and Sidhant Sharma.Talking about this campaign, Gauravdeep Singh said that this campaign would consist of three phases. The phase 1 would proceed from first week of November in which the team will be taking awareness seminars in all colleges of Ludhiana to create more new voters and make them realise the importance of intelligent and informed voting. 

The next two phases will be held in December and January which will have "Know Your Candidate Campaigns" and on-ground activities.The group thanked Deputy Commissioner Mr Ravi Bhagat for encouraging them right from the start and said that they look forward to make a difference this time.While launching this campaign, Mr Ravi Bhagat said that such efforts by young volunteers will go a long way in ensuring maximum voter turnout in the upcoming elections. ADC (D) Miss Apneet Riyait, SDM (West) Mr Subhash Chander, SDM (Raikot) Miss Kanu Thind, SDM (Khanna) Mr Amit Bamby, besides others were also present on the occasion.
