State Government Saturday foiled the attempts of Geelani to address nation and kept his house out of bounds for the people while family members too were not allowed to meet him. “The road leading to the residence at Rehmat Abad Hyderpora from Airport Road had been sealed with barbed wires,” eye witnesses said. “Scores of forces vehicles and men in uniform had been deployed and no one was allowed to move towards Rehmat Abad.”Witnesses told news agency CNS that Police, CRPF and scores of CID and police officers manned the street leading to residence of Geelani. They added that even jammers had been installed outside the residence of Geelani.Geelani’s younger son, Naseem Geelani told CNS that: “I was on way to meet my ailing father on Saturday morning but cops stopped me. A police officer who was sitting in a police van categorically told me to return as I won’t be allowed to meet my dad – Geelani,” he said.Naseem questioned the action of the police. “What kind of justice is this as not to allow son to meet his father?” he asked. However, police bundled his brother Nayeem Geelani into the vehicle and lodged him at police station Humhama.Pertinently, Geelani is under continuous house detention ever since he returned from New Delhi early this year. Government has placed police and CRPF vehicles outside his residence to thwart his every attempt to come out from the house. (CNS)
