The District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner Doda), Bhupinder Kumar today discussed and reviewed the progress under the Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll (SSR)-2017 here at a meeting.It was decided in the meeting that all district officers and concerned officials would work jointly for conducting activities including awareness camps, enrolment drives and campaigns so that no eligible person is left out in the process of revision of electoral rolls.The meeting decided to intensify SVEEP related activities in the district for mass awareness and enrolment of the eligible voters.The DC directed to all the departments to organise events like marathons, quiz, painting, declamation, poster making competitions and debates in every college and school of the district.He directed rural development department to organise SVEEP special mega gram Sabha in all panchayats and asked the BLOs to distribute registration forms to the participants.It was further decided to organise a district level women conference where in Anganwari workers and ASHA workers from across the district will participate.
They will be educated to target families of service voters and NRIs to enrol them on spot by different procedures.Officers of Social Welfare department were instructed to organize special awareness camp at Dhadkai for Deaf and Dumb voters. The Chief agriculture officer and horticulture officer were asked to jointly organize SVEEP awareness camp for farmers in each block where AEROs, concerned BLOs will remain present.The Chief Medical Officer was asked to hold medical camps one in each block to target SC, ST and other vulnerable groups. It was also decided to hold Blood donation camps, free eye camps. The display screens in the hospitals would be added with SVEEP message.Sub Divisional Magistrate Bhaderwah Mohd Anwar Banday, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Doda Ranjeet Singh besides district and Sectoral Officers of all the departments attended the meeting.
