Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today laid foundation stone of Press Club at Kullu to be constructed with an outlay of Rs, 25lakh. He said that the  state government had  been constantly endeavouring to facilitate the media persons. The facility of Press Rooms had  been provided at all the district headquarters and most of the sub-divisions in the state. Likewise, the Press Clubs have also been opened at many district headquarters and various sub-divisions during the regime of the present state government where the facilities of computers, LED televisions and well furnished furniture have been made available, he said. 

Director, Information and Public Relations, R.S.Negi apprised that the department has spent a sum of Rs. 1.38 crore on construction of new Press Club buildings and renovation of existing Clubs besides providing various facilities during last two years in the State. . The work on construction of Press Clubs at Mandi, Haroli, Nahan, Paonta Sahib, Una, Dharamshala and Kangra has been either completed or is nearing completion while the renovation of Press Clubs at Manali, Rampur Bushahr, Rohru, Jaisinghpur, Nurpur, Mandi, Sundernagar has also been taken up for which adequate funds have been released by the government, he said. The Press Club building at Kullu has come up at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh and this facility would be extended to more places in near future to facilitate the media persons.
