Minister for Finance, Culture and Labour & Employment, Dr Haseeb A Drabu today convened an officers meeting at DC Office Complex here to review the pace of ongoing developmental works  and exhorted upon the concerned for timely completion of these works.Deputy Commissioner, Muneer-ul -Islam, SSP Pulwama, CMO, CEO, General Manager DIC, SEs, Xens and heads of various other departments were present in the meeting. The officers apprised the Minister about various developmental works underway in the district to provide better amenities to the people.Dr Drabu stressed upon the officers to accord priority to ongoing developmental projects in the district and ensure time-bound completion so that the benefits percolate to the people. He also directed the officers to ensure that people are provided clean drinking water and directed them to ensure electricity supply as per the schedule.The Minister directed the Engineering departments and other officers to accelerate the pace of developmental works and be ready with plan-B mode for re-appropriations wherever funds could not be utilized. He directed concerned officers to mobilize their men and machinery and prioritize the works on important ongoing projects. He also stressed for ensuring regularity and punctuality in government offices to develop effective work culture and timely disposal of public issues.

While lauding the role of the Health and FCS & CA departments during the prevailing situation in the Valley, the Minister said that Government acknowledges the commendable work done by each employee of these departments.Dr Drabu said the State Government is committed to provide better facilities to the people for which concerted efforts should be made to improve the service delivery mechanism.Earlier, DDC Pulwama gave an overview of the developmental works in the district. He further informed that at least 20 district offices are running from rented buildings and proposed construction of a Revenue Complex, an Industrial Complex and an Engineering Complex for smooth and coordinated functioning of various offices. The Minister assured all possible support and assistance in this regard. He also took a stroll of the land identified for this purpose.The SSP Pulwama while updating about the law and order situation informed that the overall situation is improving in district with each passing day.The District Horticulture Officer informed that the department has imported root stocks of high density plants from Netherland which will be distributed among the identified beneficiaries in the month of November.The Minister stressed upon the DHO that more areas falling close to the fruit mandis be brought under it.
