Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Shabir Ahmed Batt today conducted surprise visit to Tandwal area and inspected ongoing Girdawari at Village Tandwal, Sasalkote and Agrath of Tehsil Rajouri.Deputy Commissioner interacted with the farmers and inquired from them regarding the Girdawri being conducted by the revenue department.Deputy Commissioner inspected Girdawari entries made during this season which commenced from September 15 and continue till October 30 2016. During the process the Patwaris will also conduct the harvest inspections according to the Fard Raftar being already submitted by them.While inspecting the ongoing Girdawari, Deputy Commissioner directed the revenue officials to strictly comply with the rules mentioned under Standing Order 22.
He further said that resources like trees, ponds and lakes be clearly marked in the Girdawari. The DC further emphasized on proper maintenance of revenue record for preserving it for long time.Deputy Commissioner instructed concerned Tehsildar to organise special mutation camp after Girdawari season for attestation of pending mutations in presence of Chowkidar and Lumbardars of respective villages.Deputy Commissioner further instructed revenue officials to make entries of all the land acquired for the public purpose in revenue record.He further directed that common assets like common paths and Kuls should be protected from encroachment. “It is the duty of revenue department to protect the state and forest land from being encroached,“ he said while strictly instructing the Patwaries and Girdawars to avoid making irrelevant/ direct enteries in the revenue record.
Later in the day, the DC interacted with the villagers of Tandwal and took stock of the problems being faced by them. He issued on spot directions for early redressal of their problems.He informed that the work on Tandwal -Kerri bridge which halted for last one year due to land dispute would be soon resumed. Deputy Commissioner also inspected various ongoing developmental works in these villages and instructed the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work.Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Paramjeet Singh Tehsildar Rajouri Salam Din, besides officers and officials of all various departments.
