The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today chaired a meeting to review progress under Border Area Development Plan (BADP) for the year 2015-16 and 2016-17.The meeting was attended by DDC Sheetal Nanda, ADDC Vivek Sharma, ADC Pawan Sharma, ACD Tilak Raj, CPO Jasbir Singh, Xen's PDD,PHE and sectoral officers.
The Minister was informed that Rs 4.22 crore BADP plan was proposed for the Financial year 2016-17 in the district against which Rs 3.55 crore stand already released. The Minister reviewed the plan across Rural development, power, PHE, irrigation and health sectors. He directed for timely completion of works to avoid spill over costs of projects. He laid stress upon completion of works by December so that the utilization certificates are submitted on time. He also emphasized upon proper implementation of Skill development courses in the border areas.Later, the Minister also held a meeting with SIDCO officials and sought progress of upcoming industrial projects in the state. He directed officials to specifically focus on small entrepreneurs. He also directed MD SIDCO Amit Sharma to submit report on land earmarked and not allotted yet for industrial use.
