Punjab Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia today said it was condemnable that the Punjab Congress had chosen a leader who was against extending subsidies to the farmers, Dalits and poor as head of its manifesto committee.Addressing a huge youth gathering organised by the Youth Akali Dal (YAD) to pay tribute to the great hero of our times -Shaheed Bhagat Singh ji on his 109th birth anniversary, Mr Bikram Majithia said as finance minister Mr Manpreet Badal had always publicly criticized the SAD-BJP alliance for extending much needed subsidies to the poor and needy. "How can you expect such a leader to draft a manifesto for the welfare of the people especially when he is on record to be against extending the free power subsidy to farmers besides other subsidies being given to scheduled caste, backward caste, economically weaker sections and the trading community of the State". In direct contrast we have a chief minister in S Parkash Singh Badal Ji who has not only launched various welfare schemes for the welfare of the people such as Atta Dal Scheme, Shagun Scheme, Insurance Scheme, free power to farmers, free power to SC and BC and cheapest power to industry but also increased and strengthened the ambit of these facilities. Even as we are providing governance as per a welfare state those who were against this concept are now trying to befool the people for their petty political aims", he added.

Commenting on the Punjab Congress president Captain Amrinder Singh’s ‘Halke Vich Captain’ programme Mr. Majithia said that Congress leader had always kept away from the people of Punjab when in power. "Captain Sahab was more often than not seen having a merry time in the hills. His track record has not improved since then. He has failed to visit and meet the people of Patiala or Amritsar whom he has represented as Mla and MP. He has even failed to fulfil his constitutional duties as deputy leader of the Lok Sabha attending only eleven out of 231 sittings. There is every reason he will go back to his former lifestyle of merry making with cronies if elected to power. He may be holding programmes like "Halqa vich Captain" but after a resounding defeat in the next assembly elections he will be known more as Halka Captain due to his non-seriousness about issues of Punjab. The YAD patron also lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party on the occasion, saying it was more dangerous than Aurangzeb and East India Company due to double standards of its leaders. He said AAP leaders were indulged in merry time activities and was now known more as a an Ayash Aadmi Party. He said despite the scandalous activities of its leaders the party Convenor Arvind Kejriwal was giving clean chits to all of them without any investigation. He said it was also ironical that while Kejriwal had projected himself to be anti VVIP culture and against taking security but was now demanding Z plus category security for himself. He said similarly Kejriwal's ministers enjoyed first class air travel which was something enjoyed by millionaires. He said all this was happening when the people of Delhi were dying in droves due to lack of lack of facilities in hospitals.

Mr. Majithia said anyone who talked about principles in AAP was shown the door by Arvind Kejriwal whereas leaders exploiting women and those involved in corruption and anti-social activities were thriving. He said Mr. Bhagwant Maan was making fake promises of providing 25 lakh government jobs to the youth in Punjab but could not give any account of government jobs given to youth in Delhi in the last two years. He also said that Bhagwant Maan did not leave his family for the service of the people but the truth was that his family left him due to his alcoholic and other bad habits.Mr. Majithia gave a clarion call to the Punjabi Youth to throw out all outsiders of AAP from Punjab as they have nothing to do with the real issues and needs of Punjabis and have just come to Punjab to loot and exploit women.Earlier Mr. Majithia visited the Sardar Bhagat Singh memorial to pay tributes on his 109th Birth Anniversary and called on Youth to build the nation moving forward on the path shown by Shaheed-e- azam.
