Defending closing of doors by Hurriyat leaders to members of All Party Delegation that recently visited the state, Congress state chief GA Mir Saturday said that Government of India must first clear whether Hurriyat leaders are the stakeholders of the Kashmir issue or not.“They (Hurriyat leaders) were not officially invited for any dialogue. It was an unofficial visit by some members of All Party Delegation that tried to visit them. Union Home Ministry and Prime Minister must clear first whether they consider Hurriyat leaders stakeholders of the Kashmir issue or not,” Mir told KNS over phone. He added that a letter from PDP president Mehbooba Mufti to Hurriyat leaders urging them to talk to APD “was a cruel joke.”“State Government sent official invitation to traders, social activists and others inviting them to talk to APD. Not a single invitation letter was extended to Hurriyat leaders,” he added.Referring to the remarks of Mehbooba Mufti wherein she had said that present unrest was planned against PPD, he said: “It was not planned against PDP by anyone. But it proactive and natural anger against PDP. We have been telling the PDP from past two years that it deceived and cheated the people but PDP took two years to understand it now.”

Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Saturday told the party ministers and members that the “disturbance” had been “planned” against the Peoples Democratic “PDP sought votes from people to keep BJP away from the state, during its election campaign. Then, forged alliance with it. It was breach of trust, deception and cheat, that PDP committed against its voters in particular and against public in general,” he added. He said that “the controversial alliance” has so far failed to deliver. “This regime is claiming that it is in the office from past few months. The fact, known by everyone is that this regime is at the helm of affairs from March 2015. Only Chief Minister has changed,” he said.“PDP is trying to blame others for its own failures. Sometime you blame Pakistan for present unrest and then you change the tune. Now you claim the present unrest was plan against PDP. At least, speakers must be clear what they believe in,” he said while replying to a query. (KNS)
