The sleuths of Vigilance Bureau today achieved a major breakthrough in its campaign against corruption by nabbing a XEN of PSPCL red handed accepting bribe of Rs. 1 lakh.Disclosing this official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that XEN Inderjit Singh posted at O/o PSPCL, C.M.C Division, Ludhiana was nabbed on the complaint of Munish Kumar S/o Pawan Kumar resident of Mahanvir Colony, Sundar Nagar, Ludhiana.In his complaint Munish Kumar informed that he owned a plot of 600 sq. yard at Ludhiana. In this plot he has constructed various sheds for commercial purposes. He further informed that he applied for three separate connections of 19 KW each for these sheds. He alleged that the XEN Inderjit Singh demanded bribe of Rs. 3 lakh for allotting these electricity connections and the deal was struck for Rs.2 lakh. He alleged that as per the deal Rs. 1 lakh was to be given as first installment and the rest of Rs. 1 lakh bribe was to be given after the allotment of the connections.On the tip off provided by the complainant a team of Vigilance Bureau laid a trap and the XEN Inderjit Singh was nabbed red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from the complainant.
