In separate meetings, delegations of Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), Srinagar, led by its State General Secretary, Mr. Sheikh Zakir Hussain; Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS), J&K, led by its President Mr. Rajinder Singh; and Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, Chairman, J&K Peace Foundation met Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today. The MRM delegation shared with the Governor its view point about the prevailing unrest and the need for urgent restoration of peace and normalcy in the Valley.The BKS delegation apprised the Governor about the status of welfare activities initiated by it for the welfare of the farming community and the serious hardships being faced by it due to the prevailing unrest. 

For restoration of normalcy and peace the delegation stressed the need for initiating confidence building measures by the Government including stopping use of pellet guns by the security forces, arrangement of proper medical treatment to the victims of pellet injuries, payment of compensation to those killed due to the ongoing unrest in the Valley, adequate employment opportunities to the youth etc.Mr. Bhat discussed with the Governor issues relating to the enormous loss to the education sector, trade, industries and other developmental activities due to the present unrest in the Valley and urged him to take urgent steps towards the restoration of peace in the Valley and establishment of positive ground for the permanent solution to the Kashmir problem. The Governor stressed the crucial importance of peace being most urgently restored in the State and urged them to sustain their vigorous endeavours in this regard.
