Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today asked the employees of his Department that they are obligated to deliver their duties ethically, morally as well as professionally more si in view of ensuing Eid-ul-Azha.Speaking during a review meeting, the Minister said that prevailing circumstances should not be an excuse for an employee to derelict from delivering his duties. He said that the Government employees, especially the ones dealing with essential services are bound to deliver their duties irrespective of political or weather situation as are dependent on their service delivery.Mr. Zulfkar Ali said that it is job of Government to provide all the facilities to its people, and present dispensation is committed to ensure that people receive continuous supply of essential commodities without any hassle.The Minister was reviewing the arrangements put in place by various Government departments including FCS&CA, SMC, Legal Metrology, Power, PHE, Health, and Animal Husbandry in connection with ensuing festival of Eid-ul-Azha.

The Minister directed Director FCS&CA, Kashmir to complete 100 percent sugar distribution before Eid. He added that after formulating a proper distribution schedule kerosene distribution should also be started at an earliest. The schedule should be shared with Divisional Commissioner office for its smooth implementation, the Minister said. The Minister also directed FCS&CA officers to keep sufficient supply of rice, sugar, Atta, at ration depots, besides buffer stocking of LPG.The Minister directed the concerned PHE officials to ensure that uninterrupted water supply is provided to people, and water tankers are made available in the areas facing water scarcity.He also asked the Waqaf Board to ensure that all facilities are put in place for the smooth offering of Eid Nimaz at various places across the valley. He said that they should ensure that the timing of Nimaz and other related things are properly communicated.

The SMC officials were asked to ensure sanitation and light arrangement facility in Srinagar city, especially around the mosques, shrines and other religious places. He instructed the Commissioner SMC to press additional men and machinery into service and ensure that proper disposal of garbage.Mr. Zulfkar Ali instructed Chief Engineer, PDD to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the Eid days, so that people do not face any in-convenience.Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Commissioner SMC, Director FCS&CA, Superintendent Engineer Power Development Department, Joint Controller Legal Metrology, and officers from other departments attended the meeting.
