To provide speedy justice to the people, the revenue courts of district Ramban have intensified the process of disposing land dispute cases. The DC’s court individually has disposed 46 cases between May to August recording the highest disposal since the inception of district. As per the records, 22 cases were cleared from DC’s court in August alone against an average of 2 to 3 cases instituted per month in 8 years of establishment of the district.A case titled Brij lal Vs Mohan Singh of Seri Ramban was instituted in 2009 and after seven years decision was given to the party on merits by Deputy Commissioner. Similarly some cases under trail since 2010 were also disposed after six years. So far all district revenue courts are concerned, 52 cases are under trial at ADC court, 82 in ACR Court, 08 at SDM office Gool , 21 with SDM Banihal.

There is no case pending in the court of SDM Ramsoo. Similarly at Tehsil level revenue courts only 41 land related cases are pending including the highest in Tehsil Banihal and only two at Pogal Paristan. Out of all these total 315 cases, 113 have been decided so far in four months.”Of  134 cases pending in the DC’s court- all related to land- 46 have been disposed in very short span of six months thereby clearing a huge pendency. In next 4/5 months all left over cases shall be decided”, said an official.  The main objective of pendency disposal is to provide speedy justice so that the land rights of the people are safeguarded besides reducing unnecessary harassment and economical losses inflicted on them.Pertinently, the Financial Commissioner Revenue during a review meeting late last month had  also appreciated the speedy disposal of cases by the revenue courts in the district.
