Contractors from Kashmir Valley while flaying state government for banning internet services in the state Friday said that the ban on the internet services has kept the contractors from submitting tenders. They appealed Chief Engineer Military Engineering Service (MES) to stop floating tenders till internet ban is lifted. “The tenders floated by MES at this juncture give advantage to a selected group of people while majority of the contractors are unable to participate in the bid. This is sheer justice towards us,” Roshan Iqbal the proprietor of VL Enterprises told CNS.Another contractor who is the proprietor of Sofi Enterprises said that they fail to understand how come MES is able to float tenders when there is non-availability of raw materials. “We too want to participate in the bids but the gag on internet deprive us from this right,” he said and added that the the contractors face losses worth lakhs of rupees because of the non-functioning of the internet,” they said.
