Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today hailed the visit of Congress general secretary Mr Rahul Gandhi to Punjab saying it had further enthused and energised the party rank and file in the state.In a statement issued here today, Capt Amarinder said, the workers and the grassroot level leaders were feeling happy about having met their leader and exchanged views and ideas with him. He said, Mr Gandhi by his three day interaction with workers and leaders had further energized them to work harder for the party.The PCC president observed there should be more such interactions between the senior leadership with the grassroot level workers and leaders who take pride in it. Such interactions are mutually helpful. While on the one hand these give the first hand feedback to the leadership on the other hand these boost morale and confidence of the workers, he said, while adding, the workers take pride in meeting and coming face to face with such a prominent and popular leader of the party.Capt Amarinder said, Mr Gandhi’s visit and interaction with the workers had conveyed the right signals to everyone that the workers and grassroot leaders are and will continue to be the main pillars and strength of the party and as long as they are strong the party will remain strong. Besides, he added, Mr Gandhi’s presence around for three days assured the party rank and file that the party leadership stood by them.
