Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Harun Malik convened a meeting to review the progress on cable TV digitisation in the district during a meeting held here today.ACR Ashraf Choudary , District Information Officer, Abid Hussain Shah besides LCOs and MSOs from different cable TV networks in the attended the meeting .DC impressed upon the stakeholders   to put in efforts to expedite the ongoing process of digitisation   so that desirable results could be achieved in stipulated time period  set by the GOI  .While  discussing the  ban on carriage of Analog signal and  urgency of shifting to Digital Addressable system(DAS)  the Deputy Commissioner  said there is urgent need  for  carrying out massive awareness  campaign to sensitizes the subscribers  through local electronic and press media  about the advantages of  shifting to DAS.He further said  the Cable TV network  laws and acts empowers the authorized  officers to seize equipments  used for operating cable TV  network  if there is contravention being observed by the controlling authority ,  therefore it makes obligatory for every cable operator to transmit or retransmit  programs of any channel in an encrypted form through DAS  with effect from the dates  notified by the government.
