Acting swiftly, the Punjab Police cracks two cases of sacrileges which include sacrilege of Quran Sharif at Masjid of village Mehlan Chowk in Sangrur district and another incident in village Butala in Police district Amritsar Rural where a page of Gutka Sahib was torn within hours and in both cases accused persons have been arrested.Regarding Sangrur district sacrilege incident, a press conference was held by Sh. Parmraj Singh Umranagal, IPS, IGP, Zone 1 Patiala told in presence Sh. Balkar Singh Sidhu IPS DIG, PR, Patiala, Sh. Pritpal Singh Thind, PPS, S.S.P, Sangrur, Shri Jaskiranjit Singh Teja, PPS, SP (Inv.), Sh. Jasveer Singh, PPS, DSP, Dirba and Sh. Rajwinder Singh Randhawa, PPS, DSP (Inv.). He informed that an incident regarding sacrilege of Quran Sharif was occurred on dated 15-08-16 at Masjid village Mehlan Chowk and FIR no. 102 dated 15-08-16 u/s 295A IPC PS Chhajali got registered regarding this sensitive matter. Because of sensitivity of this matter a special investigation team was constituted of Sh. Jasveer Singh PPS DSP Dirba, Insp. Satnam Singh I/C CIA B.S. Wala, Insp. Vijay Kumar SHO Chhajali and ASI Karamjeet Singh I/C P.P. Mehlan to trace the above stated case.
He revealed that on 15-08-2016 Special Investigation Team got success when team member ASI Karamjeet Singh I/C P.P. Mehlan got secret information that the sacrilege incident was committed by a person namely Ishrar Mohd. s/o Mohd. Idrish r/o near chhoti-vaddi Masjid, village Paharpur PS Nagal Distt. Saharnpur (U.P) and arrested the above stated accused, nearby Malli Dhaba, Mehlan chowk, Sangrur. He said that during interrogation, it was revealed that accused Ishrar Mohd. is real brother-in-law of Maulvi Mohd. Mustafa (Complainant of the case). Accused further confessed that he committed sacrilege incident at Masjid Mehlan chowk, on dated 14-08-16 at about 3:00 PM in the absence of Maulvi Mohd. Mustafa and all his family. Accused Ishrar Mohd. was previously residing at Masjid village Mehlan Chowk along with his sister Mohseena Begam and brother-in-law Maulvi Mohd.Mustafa. Accused Ishrar Mohd. fell in bad company and started taking drugs, due to that his sister Mohseena Begam and brother-in-law Maulvi Mohd. Mustafa beaten him and he was being forced to leave Masjid village Mehlan chowk, three four months ago. Accused committed this sacrilege incident of Holy Quran Sharif to take revenge from his sister Mohseena Begam and brother-in-law Maulvi Mohd. Investigation is in process, he added.
Besides this, accused Lakhwinder Singh s/o Dalip Singh r/o Shekh Fatta Bhaini now Butala PS Beas (Amritsar Rural), who had torn the page of Gutka Sahib. According to an official spokesman, a case FIR has been registered on the statement of Gurdev Singh s/o Harbhajan Singh r/o Patti Palla, Butala PS Beas (Amritsar Rural), who said that he has gone to the house of his brother-in-law Baljit Singh s/o Sawarn Singh r/o Butala on 15-8-2016. Accused Lakhwinder Singh was speaking loudly that he has take money from Sukha Singh and he will torn the pages of Gutka Sahib and will falsely implicate Sukha Singh. Gurdev Singh and Baljit Singh prevented Lakhwinder from doing so, but he torn the page of Gutka sahib. A case FIR has been registered and accused has been arrested by ASI Parshotam Lal.
