Awami Itihad Party (AIP) will hold a peaceful march in front of UN Military Observers Group, stationed at Sonawar, tomorrow against the continuous failure of world community to force India for a peaceful settlement to J&K dispute in accordance with the UN Resolution. In a statement issued to KNS, MLA Langate Er Rasheed said while PM of India has maintained a criminal silence over the mass revolt in J&K and is trying to hide the problem, world community needs to come forward to heal wounds of Kashmiris, who are being killed, tortured and imprisoned in a jail like valley. Er Rasheed said, “Had people been taking to streets in such huge numbers in any part of the world, response of world community would have been all together different. GoI is trying its best to keep world community ill informed over the happenings in J&K and under such circumstances despite having a very limited role, the UN Military Observers Group in Kashmir must act as a communication channel between Kashmir and rest of the world and inform formally the UN, how Kashmiris are being massacred and whatsoever is happening in the streets of Kashmir and parts of Jammu region, is not a law and order problem but a movement for right to self-determination, as such it is mandatory upon United Nations to intervene and help in resolving the issue.” (KNS)
