The Punjab Education Minister, Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema today held a high level meeting with the departmental officials and Chairperson, Punjab School Education Board in order to uplift the standard of education in the state as well as rectifying the flaws so as to achieve better results in future. In the extensive consultations during the meeting, a roadmap for training of the teachers was chalked out.The minister said that the evaluation and assessment meeting held yesterday with the teachers showing poor results brought to the fore bitter and challenging scenario regarding the teaching profession. After thorough deliberations with the higher officials of the department, it was decided to prepare lists of the teachers showing less than 30 percent result in order to formulate in service training programmes for such teachers.

Dr. Cheema further said that the training would be provided by the expert resource persons and emphasized that the training programme must be as per the level of the teachers. He also elaborated that feedback should be taken from the teachers before and after the training programme so as to gauge the practical outcome of the training .Prominent among others who were present in the meeting included Mr G Vajralingam, Principal Secretary, Mr Pardeep Aggarwal, Director General School Education, Dr Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal, Chairperson, PSEB, Mr JR Mehrok, Secretary, PSEB, Mr Balbir Singh Dhol, DPI (SE), Mrs Pankaj Sharma, DPI (EE), Mr Sukhdev Singh Kahlon, Director, SCERT and Dr Ginni Duggal, Deputy Director.
