Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission  (PSC) refuted the News item carried by a section of Press that PSC has conducted the interviews for key positions in Health and Medical Education Department without informing the candidates. Refuting the news story, the Commission stated that a notice was issued  on June 17, 2016  for the information of general public with regard to holding the interviews for the posts of lecturer Pathology, lecturer, Orthopaedics,  Medical Record Officer and Assistant Director, DTO/Principal Regional in Health and Medical Education Department. It stated that in response to the notice, out of the 33 candidates called for interview for the post of lecturer Orthopaedics, 28 appeared in the interview.  All the five candidates called for interview for the post of Medical Record Officer participated in the interview.

In respect of Pathology, the candidate who was found eligible and called for interview appeared in the interview on the scheduled date.Out of 10 candidates called for interview for the post of   Assistant Director, DTO/Principal Regional in Health and Medical Education, only 2 candidates appeared before the interview Board.  These posts are subject matter of Litigation and the Court has directed the Commission to conduct the interview.  The list as per the court orders is not to be finalized. The allegation that the Commission did not intimate the candidates about the dates of the interview is unfounded and misplaced as the notice was also published on the website of the Commission on July 17, 2016 as it proved by the participation of the candidate in the interview.  The Commission advised the print media to cross check the factual position before carrying any news item pertaining to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service commission.
