Strongly reacting against the beating of entire village in Kulgam by Indian army at the behest of a non-local person, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Friday appealed people to keep a close vigil on such suspicious persons in their respective areas. In a statement issued to KNS, DFP general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari termed the hooliganism by Indian army as provocative and said people must unite and rise against the unleashing of such reign of terror and oppression upon them.

Expressing strong resentment over the complaint made by the non-local before Indian army, Tari said on one hand, Kashmiri people treat these non-locals in a very hospitable manner but on the other side, these people showed their true colours by resorting to such mean acts.He appealed the people to keep a close vigil on the activities of such suspicious person in their respective areas.“The beating of people including women and children, ransacking the houses and Masjid sharief by Indian army is extremely despicable. The so-called administration has failed to rein in the savage Indian forces. If such acts aren’t stopped, the situation may take an ugly turn,” he said.Moulana Tari while condemning the continuous house detention of party chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah said all the clai and slogans of ‘freedom of speech and expression’ have turned out to be farce.

“This is nothing but a practical defeat of the so-called puppet government which doesn’t have courage to face the resistance leadership on a political platform. As a puppet, this government has turned the whole State into a virtual jail on the dictations of its masters in New Delhi,” he said.Moulana Tari strongly condemned the continuous house detention of Hurriyat Conference chairman Jenab Syed Ali Geelani Sahib saying those who used to create hue and cry over the restrictions on resistance leadership are adopting same measures when in power.Giving details of Shabir Ahmad Shah, Tari said since the pro-freedom leader’s release in 2011, Shah has been either detained in jails or kept under house arrest for a period of 33 months and 27 days. “He has been barred from offering 202 Friday and 9 Eid prayers and continues to be under detention this year,” he said.Meanwhile, a Freedom Party spokesperson has termed the state-wide arrest spree on the occasion of Youm-ul-Quds as vengeful and said the crackdown on resistance leadership won’t help the state administration in any way.He said many party activists have been arrested during nocturnal raids which include district Pulwama president Muhammad Amin, Bashir Ahmad; Ishfaq Kotwal, Shabir Ahmad Baba, Adil Wagay in Islamabad; Abdul Gaffar in Sopore and dozens of other across the valley. “It is impossible to break our resolve through such suppressive measures,” the spokesperson said.
