The Jammu and Kashmir Non-gazetted Secretariat Employees Union (JKNGSEU) today held a one-day protest due to non-fulfillment  of the various demands projected by them like Removal of Pay Anomaly and Career Progression/Cadre Review  of its employees, so prepare for indefinite  protest. The president JKNGSEU, Ghulam Rasool Mir in a statement issued to GNS said that  on one side Government is  unable to implement the 7th Pay commission recommendations and another side Government is going to double the salary of Legislatures, enhance their CDF and expenditure on their facilities which may touch sky.He said that the government has approved IAS and KAS cadre review which involves huge financial implications on the State Exchequer. There are huge liabilities created in the Estates Department on account of money spent on unnecessary repairs, renovations, furnishing/furniture and private accommodation viz houses/ hotels to accommodate VVIPS and employees while as Estates Department has sufficient accommodation available which is misused by some blue eyed persons, he added.  “Ignoring problems faced by low paid employees has put a question mark.  Sorry to say that this State is meant for influential/ blued eyed persons.  Need of the time is that employees cadres should get united and fight against such double standard of the Government.

It's very unfortunate that HCM said on the floor of house that orderlies are corrupt, which Secretariat employees took in a bad taste,” he added.  Mir said that during the budget discussion, Hon'ble Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti announced to double the salary of legislatures, enhancement of their CDF and other facilities, Police cadre but not favoured a single word for their government employees even issues has been raised by Mr Omar Abdullah, Mr Bashir Ahmad Dar Hon'ble MLA Kupwara and Shri Ravinder Raina Hon'ble MLA, Nowshera. “No doubt Hon'ble Chief Minister is ignoring her own employees even employees working in Secretariat to work for successful government all time, employees fraternity extend thanks to these Legislatures who raised their issues on the floor of house.  Secretariat employees extend special thanks to Jenab Omar Abdullah who informed the house that Secretariat Employees are back bone of the government and favoured every possible encouragement from the government from time to time and advised HCM, not to force them to go for protest as seen during budget session,” said the President. This Government has also stopped ration of Durbar Move Employees. He further appealed that all employees are requested to think, see the mindset of the government towards their employees and get united against double standard of the government. He said that in case the genuine demands are not addressed the Secretariat employees will go on an indefinite strike in coming days. (GNS)
