Srinagar , 23 Jun 2016

Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik who was arrested by police on 20th June 2016 and was immediately shifted to central jail Srinagar is still languishing in Srinagar central jail. From last three days his lawyers and friends have been approaching Tehsildar Srinagar south but using delaying tactics Tehsildar has till now even denied to listen the case.According to a statement issued to KNS, Yasin Malik was arrested by police on 20th June 2016 at 10:30 am.He was first shifted to police station Kothibagh and after one and a half hour was shifted to Srinagar central jail.

Before being shifted he was not presented before any magistrate or Tehsildar but ironically Tehsildar Srinagar south who has ordered to shift him to central jail in his order has written that Yasin Malik was presented before him in person and as no one was to give his bail and he also refused to fill personal bonds he is being shifted to jail. This order of Tehsildar is based on a blatant lie and advocates malice as Yasin Malik was never produced before him neither did Yasin Malik ever refused to take bail. This order based on a blatant lie shows how Tehsildars practically work under police SHO’s in Kashmir.

While strongly condemning this nexus between police and tehsildars and lawlessness practiced by them, JKLF incarcerated chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik said that police and Tehsildars are practically raping law and justice in Kashmir. He said that a person is arrested and not produced before any magistrate but gets an order of imprisonment and even having being produced before the court.Yasin Malik said that he had personally written a letter to chief justice of Jammu Kashmir high court in this regard but unfortunately there also such kind of a decision came that actually vindicated this lawlessness and Policegiri.Yasin Mlaik said that Tehsildar sahib in his order has said that Yasin Malik refused to sign a bail bond but I want to ask him that if that was the case why he is using delaying tactics and avoiding hearing the case from last three days. Whose orders is he waiting for? (The order copy of Tehsildar is attached with this press note).JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik while hailing the people of Islamabad especially the people of town for their exemplary boycott of the farce elections said that prior to elections all the ration stores were kept open, rice, sugar and other food grains were supplied free and to enhance voting percentage even the cost of one vote was kept at three thousand per vote.

But despite all these intimidations, incentives, solicitation and other measures people of Islamabad especially the worthy people of town stood firm and boycotted these farce elections for which these people deserve appreciation and kudos.Yasin Malik said that the way people of Islamabad boycotted election drama has given a strong message to India, its stooges and to the whole world that Kashmiris stand for freedom only.Meanwhile JKLF district president Muhammad Ishaaq Ganaie is also languishing at district jail Islamabad from last many days and even today has been denied a bail from magistrate. JKLF condemns his arrest too. (KNS)
