P.K. Tripathi, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, performed Pratham Pooja today on the auspicious occasion of Jyesht Purnima at Chandanwari on the traditional Pahalgam-Holy Cave track, amidst chanting of Vedic Mantras to invoke the blessings of Shri Amarnathji for the smooth conduct of the ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra to the Holy Cave Shrine. The Shrine Board has been organising Pratham Pooja on the auspicious occasion of Jyesht Purnima every year to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva for the peaceful conduct of the annual Yatra.The CEO was accompanied by Mr. Jitendra K. Singh, Addl. CEO SASB, Mr. R.K. Pandita, GM (Works), and other officers of the Shrine Board, Colonel Sudhir Tokas, Commanding Officer- 26 Punjab Regiment, Mr. Nisar Ahmad Nisar, SDM Pahalgam, Mr. Muzaffar Khan, SDPO Pahalgam, and Mr. Karan Singh Charak, Mr. Sudershan Khajuria, Mr. Shakti Dutt and Mr. Deepak Sharma-representatives of BABA NYAS. CEO also inspected the on-going works at the Access Control Gate at Chandanwari and the Exit Gate which is being constructed ahead of the glacier towards Pissutop and directed the officers of Pahalgam Development Authority and Tourism Department to expedite the work on the upgradtion of the track on the entire Pahalgam Axis and erection of the Shelter Sheds and ensure the timely repair of all damaged infrastructure.  The CEO also inspected the Nunwan Base Camp and reviewed the arrangements being made for the safe and comfortable stay of the Yatris.  The CEO also asked the Engineers, and officers of all the concerned Government Departments and agencies to work on war footing to put in place all required arrangements at all Yatra Camps on this route by 30th June 2016, at least 2 days before the date on which the annual Yatra is scheduled to commence.
