Condemning fierce cane-charging by Police on the jobless teachers at Bathinda, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today said that youth of the state are getting the treatment like‘ enemies’, as if they have come from across the border to disturb peace of the state. AAP MP Bhagwant Mann in a statement said that unemployed girls were misbehaved by those (Badals) who claim to the champion to protect the rights of womenfolk through “Nanhi Chhan”. What was the fault of protestors? Was it not failure of the state government which could not provide them jobs in spite of their having appropriate qualification? Mann quipped. Turning his guns towards Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, Mann said “if you have not born in the Badal family, you would also have been among the youth who were cane-charged mercilessly”.

Supporting the demand of TET qualified jobless teachers, Mann said on the hand, government schools are lacking qualified teachers but ironically on the other hand qualified teachers were forced to lodge protest to demand jobs. As per Right to Education (RTE), for any teacher it is mandatory to be TET qualified, standard of which is not less that of IAS exam, Mann said adding that the state government has failed to provide jobs to such a qualified teachers. If some of them got jobs, they were recruited on contract basis on a very meagre salary, he added.

Akalis should take a lesson from Delhi Government, which improved the standard of government schools equivalent to private schools, Mann said claiming that there was sea changed witnessed in the field of Education in Delhi. Making a scathing attack on the PPCC Chief Captain Amarinder Singh, Mann said leave apart the campaign “Halke vich Captain”, if Captain would initiate “Ghar vich Captain” to knock every door of the state, people would not take him seriously. Reacting on the statement of Captain Amarinder Singh, in which he demanded five years for Congress to save Punjab, Mann said “Had Captain done anything to save Punjab during his regime, Badals would not have come back in power”. “What role Captain performed during last nine years, he was not visible in Patiala as MLA, not available in Amritsar as MP.  He proved as ‘big zero’ even in parliament”, Mann alleged.
