One day training on National Electoral Rolls Purification (NERP) 2016 was held for EROs, AEROs, Supervisors and BLOs of Ramban district here today.The training was conducted under the overall supervision of District Election Officer (DEO), Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz.Around 218 BLOs and Supervisors of 55- Ramban assembly constituency and 56- Banihal assembly constituency besides officers attended the training. The aim of this exercise is to train the participants in scrutinizing and rectifying the seventeen common errors as identified by the ECI in electoral rolls including multiple, underage and bogus names and correction of errors or any relevant entry pertaining to electors in order to improve the health of electoral rolls.
The training was impacted by Master Trainer (Lecturer) Riyaz Ahmed and other resource persons of the department, who explained in detail the intricacies and facets for implementation and execution of NERP process. He explained the participants about Dos and Don’ts of electoral roll preparation and highlighted the theoretical and technical aspects of implementing the instructions of Election Commission to make the electoral rolls error free.Meanwhile ADDC Ravinder Nath Sadhu asked the participants to adhere to the time-line fixed by the Election Commission of India to complete the entire exercise of NERP.
