Addressing ‘Dhanyavad Rally’ organised by local MLA, Sanjay Rattan , the people of Jawalaji together with teaching and non teaching staff of Jawalaji degree college,  for taking over the college by the Government, at Jawalaji in district Kangra today, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh directed all the MLAs, not only to take approval of their development works from the Chief Minister,  but should also follow the file at different stages. He said that only that MLA was successful and was believed to  be hardworking and caring for his people,  who follow their file at different stages of processing and makes it a point, that the work gets done.Shri Virbhadra Singh said that it was due to the repeated requests of the local MLA, the temple trust and the people of Jawalaji, that the government agreed to take over the college. He said that it was agreed upon by the Cabinet on 27th of this month. He said that the government believes in equal and overall development of all areas of the State without discriminating between regions.

Earlier, Chief Minister also paid obeisance at Jawalamukhi Temple.MLA, Shri Sanjay Rattan, welcomed and thanked the Chief Minister for undertaking the degree college, Jawalaji, which was earlier run by the temple trust. He said that it was a long pending issue and the opposition never even tried to think about this. He said the populace of Jawalaji and the staff of the college was highly indebted to the Chief Minister for this. Shri Sanjay Rattan said that the former MLA, who was also a Minister from the area also kept misguiding the people and didn't succeeded in getting the college transferred to Government sector. He credited   the development of the constituency to Shri Virbhadra Singh. He said that the decision of taking over the college had saved a huge sum of Rs 75 lakh per annum and presented a cheque of one crore towards CM Relief Fund.He urged for opening a degree college at Mahjeen, IPH division at Jawalaji, science classes in degree college Khundian, to start science streams in GSSS, Pidi and Gagruhi besides other demands.  

Chairman, State Education Board, Shri Balbir Tegta, Chairman, KCCB, Shri Jagdish Sapheiya, Vice- Chairman, Employees Welfare Board, Shri Surinder Mankotia, Ex-MLA, Shri Surinder Kaku, Member Zila Parishad Ms. Ritu Prashar, President, Freedom Fighter Welfare Board, Shri Pandit Susheel Rattan, chairperson Municipal Council, Ms. Bhawana Sood, Deputy Commissioner, Shri Ritesh Chauhan, were also present on the occasion amongst others.
