Many leaders and activates of Jammu Kashmir Liberation (JKLF) including Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Professor Javed, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Ali Mohammad Bhat, Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar and Mohammad Afzal Sheikh were today arrested when they were marching along with many others towards Lal Chowk. JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, District president Pulwama Javaid Ahmad Bhat etc are already languishing in police custody from last three days. Call for today’s protest was given by Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and JKLF Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik jointly. Today’s protest was led by JKLF leader Zahoor Ahmad Butt and besides many JKLF leaders and activists people from all walks of life participated in today’s protest march .Protest march started from Maqbool Manzil and protesters holding play cards and raising slogans against conspiratorial designs of India and its stooges marched towards Lal Chowk .

When this protest march reached near Budshah chowk, Police laid a siege around it, blocked the road leading towards Lal Chowk and used brutal force to stop this peaceful march. After stiff resistance from participants of the rally, police arrested JKLF leaders and activits. Prior to his arrest , leader of today’s rally Zahoor Ahmad Butt (JKLF leader and brother of JKLF founder Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Butt) while speaking to media, said that that the conspiratorial designs of India to convert majority into minority, change demography of Jammu Kashmir and strengthen the illegal occupation by constructing separate colonies for Pandits, Sainiks and homeless outsiders and by implementing east India company type industrial policy and by suppressing Jammu Muslims etc are not acceptable to any Kashmiri and even if our blood is needed to stop these conspiratorial designs of India and its Kashmiri stooges, we will spill that too.Zahoor Butt said that Kashmiris stand united against these anti-Kashmiri Plots and will together fight against these conspiracies. Zahoor Butt said that arrest, restrictions, tyrannical policies and oppressive measures cannot deter us from perusing the path of truth and resistance. He warned the rulers to immediately stop these conspiratorial plots, otherwise Kashmiris will have no choice but to resist these plots and this resistance will only grow stronger day by day. Meanwhile during today’s protest a JKLF activist Suhail Ahmad was seriously injured in police action. Suhail has been hospitalized now. (KNS)
