Minister (Press) in Bangladesh High Commission in India, Enamul Hoque Chowdhury, called on the Minister for Health & Medical Education, Bali Bhagat at his official residence here today and discussed several important issues related to the health and medical education in Jammu and Kashmir and that of Bangladesh.Chowdhury, who is on a two-day official visit to J&K, apprised the Health Minister that Jammu and Kashmir is very important for the Bangladesh as far as Health & Medical Education sector is concerned as more than three thousand students from the State are pursuing their studies in medical and other related streams.He said every year about 500 to 600 students enroll for undergoing medical studies in Bangladesh and after completion of their degrees some prefer to serve there and some return to serve in India. He said Bangladesh Government has made appropriate arrangements for facilitating the admissions and other logistics for the students during their studies.On the occasion, the Minister (Press) invited the Health Minister to Bangladesh for a courtesy visit and to study the health and medical services and arrangements for the students of the State there. The two also discussed the possibilities for expansion and exchange of study visits by the students of Jammu and Kashmir to Bangladesh to provide them exposure in the innovation areas of medical sciences.Mr. Bali accepted the invitation and assured to visit the neighboring country in near future. He expressed gratitude to the visiting dignitary for discussing the important issues related to the welfare of the students who are pursuing studies in Bangladesh.
