Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Housing & Urban Development and Social Welfare Ms Asiea Naqash today said that HUNAR scheme launched by late chief minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, would be implemented soon across the State.Speaking at certificate distribution function at Habitat Centre, Urban Development Agency Kashmir (UDAK), Naqash said that skilled unemployed youth would be imparted skill based trainings and department would help them in launching their businesses through marketing. She said them that former chief minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed, already sanctioned the HUNAR scheme which will be implemented soon.She urged youth come forward and avail such schemes which would help them in earning their livelihood. She said that various government launched schemes would be reviewed to make sure that they reach to the genuine stakeholders.
“Time has come when youth should take lead in leading the State by various initiates. Our government is always there to help them in all their good endeavors,” she said. “Mufti sahib was very keen to see a boom in entrepreneurship culture across the State after witnessing the talent of our youth,” she said. She said Mehbooba Mufti led government would make sure that the government reaches out to the all the skilled youth to hale them launch their businesses.The minister said that under HUNAR scheme the beneficiaries would be financed, trained for marketing and other areas.On the occasion, the minister gave away certificate to the participants of self-help groups. The Minister congratulated them for their keen interest in making them self employed by completion of their courses.
Recalling her days of work with the self-help groups, Naqash said there used to be Community Organizers who would go on a regular surveys and who would depict the beneficiary for skill development , computer training, cutting tailoring ,Aari, crewel etc.She directed officials to launch UDAK centers to the nearest areas of the beneficiaries, so that they don’t feel any inconvenience. She said that were limited number of centers in some certain areas.“UDAK centers should be at nearest places so that majority of the interested women will take benefits from them,” she said. She stressed upon the department that they should help the poor and needy people for whom government is committed. She asked stakeholders to establish their business so that they don’t remain after government jobs.The Minister also distributed certificates and stipend among 220 candidates of various courses which they completed and 21 self help groups during the function.
On the occasion MLA Batamaloo Noor Muhammad, MLA Anjum Fazli, MLC Khursheed Aalam, Commissioner Secretary to Govt. H&UDD, Hirdesh Kumar, Director NILET A H Moon, Principal KGP Shaista Shamim, Chief Executive Officer, Rashida Akhtar Ganai, among other senior officials of the department were also present.
