AIP president and MLA Langate Er Rasheed Sunday asked GOI to give up its pro active attitude towards militants and offer unconditional talks to them for durable peace. While expressing his views at a function organized on eve of completion of one year of publication of ‘Bey Laag’ Urdu magazine Er Rasheed in a statement issued to KNS said. “Killing militants has not helped any way in resolving problem and has rather added to radicalisation of Kashmiri youth which has added joining educated and talented youth to militancy and the trend is increasing day by day. Those security officers celebrating killings of militants on media and other forums are misleading people of India, as killing militants and killing militancy are two different things.” He said that had killing militants been a success, people would never have turned in thousands to offer their funeral. “Unless GOI doesn’t offer sincere and unconditional talks, its arrogance gives Kashmiris a sense of defeat and thus provokes youth to a violent path,” Rasheed said.

He questioned that if USA and civilized countries can talk directly or indirectly to various militant outfits in the world, what stops India from doing the same, so that violence comes to an end?”Rasheed also warned GOI of dire consequences over its proposal of so called Saink Colonies and Composite Townships. He said. “By spreading rumours about the plans of constructing Saink colonies and composite townships GOI is just trying to push Kashmiris to defensive so that they forget about the real dispute. Though GOI knows about the fate of its colonial proposals but it still provokes Kashmiris and wants to keep them engaged in issues which may change the demography of the state. However people of J&K are one to all together to fight these nefarious designs.” (KNS)
