Minister of State for Social Welfare, Housing, Health & Medical Education Ms. Asiea Naqash Wednesday inspected facilities at Juvenile Observation Centre Harwan and SKIMS Bemina in Srinagar.The Minister accompanied by Director Social Welfare Hashmat Ali, SSP East and other concerned officials took stock of facilities provided to inmates at the Juvenile Centre. She interacted with the juveniles lodged there under various charges and asked them about the facilities being provided by the centre authorities.Asiea also visited the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Harwan where she reviewed facilities being provided to the patients. She was informed by locals of the area that the PHC lacks adequate facilities. She took strong notice of the dysfunctional power generator at the centre which affects facilities like Ultrasound, X-ray and ECG. She gave directions for repair of the genset and also gave directions for repair of approach road to the PHC as well.

Later the Minister also visited SKIMS Bemina where she inspected various sections including sample collections centres, testing laboratories, OPD, surgical section, emergency and other wards. She interacted with the patients as well and inquired about the patient care facilities provided by the hospital authorities.The Hospital administration apprised the Minister that the Institute needs infrastructural upgradation to cater the rush of patients. She was also informed that some repair and renovation work post 2014 floods at the hospital is still pending. On the occasion she asked the doctors to work diligently and stressed for maintaining cleanliness in and around the hospital.
