Justice Pasayat reviews consumer issues of State

Chairman, Committee for Consumer Courts and (Retd) Judge Supreme Court of India, Dr. Arijit Pasayat convened a meeting to review the consumer mattesr being taken up by the Consumer Affairs Department and Consumer Forums in Jammu and Kashmir.Justice (Retd) Rekha Sharma, Secretary CAPD Department, Shafiq Ahmed Raina, Director CAPD, G. S. Chib, Additional Secretary CAPD, D. K. Kapoor besides senior officers of the department were present on the occasion.While deliberating on the matter and infrastructure available  in the consumer forums, Retd Session Judge D.K Kapoor, Member State Consumer Forum, said that in Jammu , the consumer forum is functioning from a rented accommodation provided by the Estate Department, while in Kashmir  consumer forum has established its own infrastructure from  where all functioning is being  carried out . He also informed about the amount of sixty lacs available with them for the purchase of land for establishing full fledged office in Jammu. 

Responding to the issues highlighted during the meet, Secretary CAPD, assured members of consumer committee that all pending issues will be taken up with the concerned quarters to resolve them in a time bound manner .Dr Justice Arijit Pasayat and Justice Rekha Sharma, exhorted upon the senior officers of CAPD to take all remedial measures for concluding all pending matters of consumer forums on priority which could be sorted out under the laid down framework. They also confirmed that shortly they would visit the state again to take first hand review of the implementation of the decisions taken in the meeting; furthermore committee shall also submit a report to the Supreme Court in this regard.
