Delhi government has formed a task force to deal with any technical problem of the kind that hit the Metro train services on Friday, said a minister."A five-member Metro task force has been formed to control any emergency like situation in the wake of Friday's technical snag," Transport Minister Gopal Rai said on Saturday. The "technical slag" slowed down services on Kashmere Gate to Dilshad Garden line of the Metro on Friday. Rai had described the technical snag as a failure of over-head equipment (OHE) and set up a three-member panel to investigate the matter.

He also said on Saturday that a special duty chart has been prepared and 20 officials will be deployed to manage crowds at six inter-sectional Metro stations: Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Kashmere Gate, Inderlok, Kirti Nagar and Vishwa Vidyalaya. The minister said no leave of absence will be sanctioned to the Metro officials during the second phase of 'odd-even' traffic restriction scheme unless it is an emergency. The second phase of the 'odd-even' scheme started on Friday.Metro train services have now been operating with more coaches and greater frequency for the convenience of commuters, Rai added.
