Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik Friday called for a complete shutdown on Saturday against the killing of a teenage boy by Army at Kupwara. In a statement issued to KNS, Malik said, “When people in any part of the world are killed world community immediately issues statements of condemnations but when Kashmiris are killed a criminal silence is maintained by it. Aren’t we Kashmiris humans too, isn’t our blood also red and don’t we also deserve some words of consolation from international community.”Ailing JKLF chief who is languishing in police custody from last many days in his message from incarceration said that ‘brutalizing’ Kashmiris is continuing as another young innocent Kashmiri has fallen to the bullets of trigger happy Indian forces at Kupwara while as dozens have been injured.“Kashmiris have no option but to resist this unabated spree of brutal cold blooded killings by Indian forces that because of their colonial mindset and impunity they enjoy, have no fear or shame while killings innocent humans brutally,” Malik said.

Malik said that Kashmiris are being killed brutally but no one among the international community seems to bother about it.He asked that why is this discriminatory attitude and criminal silence maintained when our kith and kin are brutalized by Indian forces.Malik appealed international community to shun its double standards about humanity and take note of Kashmiri blood that is being spilled on daily basis by Indian forces. “After killing innocents, Indian rulers, their Kashmiri stooges and forces even deny Kashmiris the right to mourn and express grief and sorrow,” he said.He said that imposing curfew, arresting hundreds of youth across Kashmir, snapping internet, vandalizing residential houses, business centers, vehicles and beating whosoever comes in their way has become the order of the day.Malik said that Kashmiris through their exemplary strike for three days and today’s protests across the valley have shown their unity against Indian oppression and occupation.“This is a clear message to India and its stooges that Kashmiris despite all oppressive measures will never budge before tyrants and our march towards freedom will continue at every cost,” he said.

Meanwhile, despite strict curfew, restrictions and barricades, led by vice chairman JKLF Mushtaq Ahmad Ajmal a grand protest rally was taken out from JKLF office (Hameed Blood Bank) Abi Guzar against Handwara / Kupwara brutal killings.JKLF leaders and activists after crossing heavy barricades gathered at Abi Guzar and along with a large number of people including elders and youth of the area and marched towards Lal Chowk.Shouting slogans in favor of independence and martyrs and against recent cold-blooded killings by police and army at Handwara and Kupwara, participants of the rally were stopped by a large contingent of police and forces who had laid razor wire on roads leading towards Lal Chowk. The participants of the protest rally provided stiff resistance. On the occasion police using force dispersed the protest rally and arrested JKLF leaders Mushtaq Ahmad Ajmal, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Mir Siraj ud din human rights leader Muhammad Ahsan unto, professor Javed, Imtiyaz Ahmad, Ali Muhammad, Basharat Ahmad, Muhammad Irfan, Fayaz Ahmad Lone and Muhammad Haneef etc.

Prior to the rally and arrest, JKLF vice chairman Mushtaq Ahmad Ajmal while talking to the media person said that despite heavy curfew JKLF has decided to take out this protest rally against cold blooded murders of innocent people at Handwara and Kupwara. He said that ailing JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, vice chairmen Bashir Ahmad Butt and Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, leaders Zahoor Ahmad Butt, Basher Kashmiri, Rafiq Ahmad Waar along with Hurriyat JK leader Shabir ahmad Dar are in police custody from last many days and police has been raiding and searching for many more during last many days.He said that these oppressive measures cannot force people of Kashmir into submission but these acts of tyranny actually strengthen our resolve to fight tyranny and oppression. JKLF zonal general secretary also addressed people at Jamia Masjid Abi Guzar and condemned the spree of killings by Indian forces. (KNS)
