Horticulture Deptt holds farmer’s awareness camp at Manigam

Department of Horticulture today organized a day long awareness camp at Government Girls High School Manigam, under Sansad Aadarsh Gram Youjana (SAGY) to make masses aware about various programmes under Horticulture and allied sectors here today.The camp was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz Bhat.Speaking on the occasion, the District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, appreciated the efforts of the department in organizing such exhibition which besides promoting interaction with the farming community also provides information about the various beneficial schemes to the people. 

He also directed the authorities to organize such exhibitions on frequent basis so that the more and more people would get information about the schemes of government in the field of horticulture.At the exhibition camp, five stalls were installed by Department of Sheep Husbandry, Department of Animal Husbandry, Department of Agriculture, Department of Floriculture, and Department of Fisheries Ganderbal respectively. The District Development Commissioner visited all the stalls and viewed the products on display. Chief Horticulture Officer Ganderbal, while presenting the vote of thanks highlighted the various programmes of the department and asked the farmers to come forward to take the benefits of the different schemes programmes being implemented by the department.
