Hurriyat (G) Secretary General Shabir Ahmad Shah, APHC Provincial President Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Hurriyat spokesman Ayaz Akbar, Personal Secretary to Chairman Peer Saifullah, Mohammad Ashraf Laya, Zameer Ahmad, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Molvi Basher Ahmad, Hafiz Mudasir Nadvi, Abdul Hameed Rather Budgam, Fayaz Ahmad, Ashiq Hussain Narchour, Mushtaq Ahmad Khanday, Riyaz Ahmad Mir, Mohammad Shafi Wagay Islamabad, Mohammad Ayoub Khan Pulwama, Sabzar Ahmad, Mufti Abdul Ahad Sopore, Mehraj-ud-din Naiku, Bilal Ahmad Yatoo and Mohammad Shaban Khan are under continuous police detention either at their homes or at different police stations and today the state administration had placed strict restrictions everywhere in the state to foil the sit-in protest of the Hurriyat Conference (G) against the unjust arrest of the SAR Geelani and the JNU students the harassment of the Kashmiri students in Delhi but despite all this the people at every district headquarter of the state came on roads and held peaceful protest demonstration against the state terrorism of India.
The people during the protest demonstrations led by the Hurriyat leaders raised slogans in favour of the unconditional release of SAR Geelani, JNU students and for the freedom of Kashmir and strongly condemned the fascism and the state terrorism of India.The Hurriyat (G) leaders despite strict restrictions and arrests led different protest sit-ins at different district headquarters which include Hurriyat leaders Agha Sayed Hassan Al-Safvi Al-Moosvi sahab, Hafiz Bashir Ahmad Farooqi, Mohammad Yaseen Attaaii and Mohammad Maqbool led the protest demonstrations in Budgam while as Bashir Ahmad Qurashi, Shakir Ahmad Mir, Sayed Imtiyaz Hayder, Rameez Raja and Umar Adil Dar led the sit-in protest at Amirakadal Lalchowk. Shakeel Ahmad Bhat and Yaar Mohammad Khan led protest march from Maisuma Lalchowk. Rafiq Ahmad Ganai led the protest demonstration at Islamabad while as Salman Yousuf, Rayees Ahmad Mir and Danish Mushtaq led different protest programs at Hajin, Gund Jahangir and Bandipora in the district.
Hurriyat (G) leader Bilal Siddiqi led a protest march at press colony while as Muhtarmah Zamrooda Habib and Muhtarmah Yasmeen Raja also led protest demonstrations at Lalchowk. In Sopore Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Mohammad Subhan Wani and Haji Rustum Bhat led different protest demonstrations.During the protest demonstrations, the police detained dozens of Hurriyat leaders and activists which include Bashir Ahmad Qurashi, Sayed Imtiyaz Hayder, Umar Adil Dar, Jamsheed Ahmad, Javaid Ahmad Baba, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Imran, Yar Mohammad Khan, Basher Ahmad Parray, Fasil Manzoor, Zamrooda Habeeb along with her 19 women activists and Yasmeen Raja.Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani termed the crackdown of police and detention of the Hurriyat leaders and activists as an act of state terrorism and said that the government is playing a very dangerous game by not allowing the peaceful political activities and this kind of dictatorial policies have neither gained anything in the past and nor will it suppress the genuine voices of the Kashmiri people in the future. Government is taking every decision out of frustration which is worsening the already disturbed political uncertainty and instability in the state. (KNS)
